As conservators of fine antique furniture, our service includes full antique restoration, ranging from chair repairs and table repairs to French polishing and upholstery. Our 40 years’ experience in antique restoration means we are experts in the traditional skills and restoration techniques; from the correction of the smallest watermark to the full restoration of a damaged piece.
We understand and value the importance of keeping your antique furniture original. Every piece is treated individually and caringly restored.
All antique restoration and conservation are done with hand-selected timber from our own extensive antique store. We choose the right species of timber to match the period - so that your restored antique will retain as much of the original timber species as possible.
As well as antique restoration, we also refresh day-to-day household items such as dining tables, chairs, coffee tables, and side tables. French Polishing
French polish produces a resilient and high gloss surface that cannot be obtained through standard mass production methods. French polishing provides an immaculate finish to your furniture whilst enhancing the features of the timber.
It takes years of experience to master the art of French polishing. CoverUp Furniture & Upholstery craftsmen have learnt their skills over decades, with our French Polishers universally recognised as being leaders in their field.
We have restored many beautiful pieces of antique furniture. We treat each piece with care and respect and understand that many of these antique pieces have sentimental value to their owners.
There simply is no better way to bring a piece of furniture back to life by restoring its French polish. We can repair, watermarks, scratches, colour matching, etc. All furniture is sympathetically restored using only the best quality polishes and waxes.
